BMC To Conduct Online Lottery Admission Process for CBSE, ICSE Schools on 30th April 2020.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be conducting an online lottery for admissions to its first Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE School in Jogeshwari and the first Indian Certificate of Secondary Education ICSE school in Mahim on Thursday April 30 2020.
The BMC Education Department has already directed the schools to make necessary arrangements for the online process, after a nationwide lockdown was announced amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the civic body had to opt for an online process to begin the admissions for the ICSE and CBSE schools.
The BMC Education Department gave this information through a tweet. The civic body tweeted, “The lottery system for the admission process in our CBSE and ICSE Schools will be conducted digitally tomorrow. Since parents cannot be physically present for the rounds due to lockdown, we will reach them virtually.”




The lottery for admissions in our first CBSE & ICSE School at Jogeshwari and Mahim, respectively, will be conducted online on Thursday April 30th 2020. A text message, along with Google form will be provided to the selected students for completion of following formalities. Final list of confirmed students will be done by Sunday May 10th 2020.
As the BMC has received m0re than 2,154 applicants for 320 seats for its CBSE school and 343 applicants for 320 seats for ICSE school, it has decided to carry out admission process via a lottery system. Earlier, BMC had decided to conduct a lottery system in front of the parents between March 26 to March 28 but amid the coronavirus outbreak, it was postponed to April.
Meanwhile, the civic body will be sorting out application forms by April 27 and accordingly, will release a list of eligible students. The BMC education department will then send messages to the students who are selected. After which, they would have to fill a Google Form to proceed further. Selected students can confirm their admissions to the two schools by May 10. If there are less than 38 applications for any standard, the BMC will not conduct a lottery.
The first ICSE and CBSE schools will be at Mumbai Public School (MPS) school at Woollen Mill in Mahim and Poonam Nagar School in Jogeshwari respectively.
